Nigerian singer and rapper, Rema, will be headlining the Thrift Social Neon and Leather edition on the 8th of December. The 19-year-old superstar is set to perform live at the Waterfront Karen mall alongside other local stars from 2 pm all the way till midnight.

Rema whose official names are Divine Ikubor rose to stardom when his song Ironman made it to Barak Obama’s 2019 playlist. The Marvin records signee also received a cosign from singer Akon acknowledging his unique style of music and also stating that he’ll become a huge Afrobeat star.

Thrift Social, an event that showcases the exploration of art, music and fashion, has grown to become one of the biggest fashion-forward markets in Kenya and East Africa at large. The event which was first launched in 2015, by the brother and sister duo of Oliver Asike and Velma Rossa, has escalated fast from being a “backyard fashion market” to a large scale music and fashion festival that has helped to shape the Kenyan creative industry by giving a chance to innovators to display their amazing works of art.

Top on the bill is Rema who brings his chart-topping Afropop all the way from Naija. He’s joined on the line-up by local stars including the soulful Bensoul, R&B singer Xenia, DJs Mix Master Lenny and TAIO. The event will also feature a fashion market where vendors will showcase their merchandise. Interested vendors can send an email to thriftsocialnairobi@gmail.com to book their spot at only Ksh. 3000

This edition is sponsored by M tickets, the Parrot Group, Nataal and the Waterfront Karen. Tickets are available at mtickets.com or by dialling *229*60# and are being sold at kes.2000 advance and kes.3000 gate.

Save a date and be sure to experience the amazing fashion from the savvy curation of sartorially exciting vendors, good music and electrifying performances from the artists.
