Well it happens that not everyone is in panic mode, :p hackers are on a hunt for Your money interms of phishing for passwords to actual malware delivery in form of ransomwares from emails or from links shared through Social media platforms in the name of WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION(WHO) and other local and international organizations in the health field
So Whats this thing they call phishing after all ?
Phishing is a cybercrime in which a target or targets are contacted by email, telephone or text message by someone posing as a legitimate institution to lure individuals into providing sensitive data such as personally identifiable information, banking and credit card details, and passwords.
The phishing attacks maybe spear headed against unknowing people or just curious masses after the reports
and since most of this links carry the
WHO tag they are “Trustable to Most”
Plus also not forgetting fake emails targetting specific people,
This emails may contain compressed archives (.zip, .rar .tar.gz) formats which are not often scanned for malwares or viruses by Google Drive upon Delivery and may leave an unrecoverable impact on a victims machine
in forms of
~Locked files incase of ransomware attacks which demand a ransom to be paid inorder to get ones data back,
~Stolen passwords and information through exfiltration
