The Uefa Champions League yesterday came to a scintillating end with Paris Saint German battling it out against Bayern Munich for the chance to be crowned Champions of Europe. The French Champions making it to the final for the first time hoped the first timers jinx would not befall them as the German Champions were yearning for the title they had previously won in 2013.

A game expected to be a high scoring one considering the teams roads to the final did disappoint score-wise but was full of energy and had people holding their breaths at the mercy of the teams. Respective goalkeepers were in top form as they pulled save after save to keep their title aspirations afloat but a Joshua Kimmich cross met by Kingsley Coman’s header proved the most decisive moment in the match securing the crown of champions.

A notable performance was 34 year old shot stopper Manuel Neuer who thwarted several Paris attacks to keep his team in the game and his efforts were rewarded as he lifted the trophy at the end of the night. Paris Saint German despite the loss remain optimistic after making a bold step of making it to their first final and hope it will be the first of many. Bayern Munich on the other hand will toast to a pint of beer as they celebrate a trophy well deserved. With the end of one season comes the start of another. Bayern will take some days off before returning to defend their recently earned crown of Champions of Europe, this time with a target on their backs.
